Terms of Service

These Terms explain the rules for adding, configuring, and using Overlord Bot in Discord servers.

1. Acceptance

By adding, configuring, or using Overlord in a Discord server, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, remove the bot and stop using its commands. If you add Overlord to a server, you confirm that you have permission to manage bots or moderation tools for that server.

2. Relationship to Discord

Overlord is an independent Discord bot and is not created, endorsed, or operated by Discord. Use of Overlord must also follow Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, Developer Policy, and any other Discord rules that apply to your server or application use.

3. What Overlord provides

Overlord provides configurable tools for moderation, anti-spam enforcement, scam detection, link filtering, report routing, approval workflows, infraction tracking, AI-assisted review, announcements, suggestions, reaction roles, welcome messages, personal voice rooms, recruitment workflows, and other community-management tasks.

4. Server owner responsibilities

  • Configure Overlord in a way that follows Discord rules and applicable laws.
  • Notify members when your server uses automated moderation, AI-assisted review, message logging, reports, or stored moderation records where notice is required.
  • Limit powerful commands to trusted staff and keep bot tokens, API keys, log channels, approval channels, and moderation roles secure.
  • Review automated or AI-assisted decisions before relying on them for serious enforcement whenever possible.
  • Respond to member questions or deletion requests for records controlled by your server.

5. Acceptable use

  • Use Overlord for legitimate moderation, safety, anti-spam, reporting, audit, announcement, and community organization purposes.
  • Use filters, watch lists, alerts, and automations proportionally and with appropriate human oversight.
  • Respect member privacy and only collect, log, or expose information needed for server safety and operations.
  • Keep server configuration accurate and remove stale or unnecessary stored data when practical.

6. Prohibited use

  • Do not use Overlord to harass, threaten, discriminate against, shame, stalk, or unlawfully monitor users.
  • Do not use Overlord to violate Discord rules, enable abuse, automate spam, evade moderation, or collect data unrelated to moderation or community operations.
  • Do not submit malware, exploit material, illegal content, or content that violates Discord rules through commands, reports, filters, attachments, or announcements.
  • Do not bypass command permissions, overload the bot, abuse AI integrations, scrape Discord, reverse engineer private credentials, or disrupt connected services.
  • Do not represent automated outputs, AI summaries, scam scores, or detection results as guaranteed facts without moderator review.

7. Moderation decisions

Overlord is a tool for moderators; it does not replace server judgment. Server owners and staff remain responsible for final moderation decisions, member communications, appeals, role changes, timeouts, bans, mutes, and consequences created from bot output.

8. AI-assisted features

AI-assisted features can misunderstand context, miss violations, or flag harmless content. Server staff are responsible for deciding whether to enable those features, reviewing important outputs, and ensuring AI-assisted processing is appropriate for their community.

9. Availability and changes

Overlord is provided as available. Features may be changed, limited, paused, or discontinued without notice, including when Discord APIs, hosting environments, AI providers, dependencies, or abuse-prevention needs change.

10. Suspension or removal

Access to Overlord may be suspended, restricted, or removed for abuse, security risk, unlawful use, attempts to disrupt the service, Discord rule violations, or violations of these Terms. Server owners may remove the bot from their server at any time.

11. No warranties

Overlord is provided without warranties of uninterrupted service, error-free operation, perfect moderation accuracy, or fitness for a particular server. You use the bot at your own risk and should keep backups of important server configuration where appropriate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the bot operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost access, moderation disputes, server disruptions, or third-party service failures arising from use of Overlord.

13. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated when Overlord's features, providers, operating model, or legal requirements change. Continued use of Overlord after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the support contact listed on Overlord's website, support server, or Discord application page.
